Lazarus is resurrected by the messiah, but something goes wrong, the former dead miraculously comes to life as a zombie and begins to devour anyone transforming citiziens, imperial soldiers and cowboys into undeads.
The gallant Jesus at the sight of this horror, takes the frightened friend Judas and runs like hell.
After few moments of despair, the two arm themselves with courage (and fishes) and decide to solve the problem simple butchering Lazarus and his army using punches and violence!
This is the hilarious premise of Fist of Jesus, a two-dimensional beat em up (made with unity) available on steam at 8.99 euro.
The gameplay of the game is very basic and simple even for this genre, because in addition of being available for PC is also on smartphones;
The levels are small arenas where victory comes after the completion of a given goal within the time limit (survive, kill a certain number of zombies etc ..) to defend ourselves we can use fists or weapons we gather around, all at the touch of a simple button, the rest is dedicated to the launch of the fishes and special powers, 3 for character (besides Jesus we can play as Judas) these are unlockable the discovery of special items hidden in the levels.
Besides all this we also have a system of progression for the characters, the points are obtained by spending money of the game and we can also enhance the alredy mentioned special moves or passive elements, such as resistance to fire or increase health.
Is also easy to be against enemies stronger and more resistant than the usuals, but also sometimes we have to face the real bosses; as an obese Roman general or the same Lazarus himself.
Among the weapons that we can gather there are rifles and pistols, which help the killing of zombies at a safe distance, then these are the protagonists of bonus roundes where you have to pull out your weapon and shoot before a cowboy zombie does at the end of a countdown.
It's an easy game, of course blasphemous, but if we look at it just as a game... I think it's hilarious! The interpretation of the Lazzarus' story it's just amazingly funny and the cartoonish look of the game make everything even funnier.
RispondiEliminaThough... I would also appreciate a coop mode.
